Writer
So after a first interview, I got a take-home test. I thought it would be a normal editing test or an outline of how I would approach an article. Instead, I had to write 3 news articles about topics given. Each article had to be at least 500 words, with unique headlines and a 160-word dek. I also needed to give strong headers/titles. It took a lot of time and I never heard back, not even a rejection.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your writing experience?
- Write three news articles on the given topics, making sure each is at least 500 words with a unique headline and a 160-word dek.
- Create strong headers/titles for the articles.
Senior Accountant
It was a pretty simple process with 3 interviews in total. They were all set up to check if you can actually do the work. Started with a phone screen with the recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager, and finally, you met with a VP/Exec.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with a colleague on a project?
Coordinator
The interviewer was really nice and made me feel comfortable. I wasn't totally sure what would happen next, but it was a good experience overall. I didn't get the job this time, but I'd be open to applying again with them.
