Technician
I showed up a bit early and the HR person told me to wait in the waiting area. After a bit, the interviewers showed up. It started off okay, with them asking about my schooling and work history. The female interviewer seemed unsure and didn't ask very good questions, throwing out random technical ones, some about tech I'd never used. The male interviewer asked about my salary expectations. I gave him a reasonable figure, a bit below market value, and he said I was expensive. I questioned him since my price was already low. He stated their starting pay was $20,000. I was surprised and basically said the interview was over and they shouldn't call unless they had a serious offer. HR contacted me a few days later with a really low offer of $27,500, much lower than the national average for this type of job. Sadly, I took it because it was better than nothing, which kicked off the terrible experience working for the ame group.

Network Engineer
I initially spoke with HR, who was really nice and friendly. Then I did a self-interview with about 10 questions, each limited to 1 minute. The next interview was with Randall, the Service team manager. It seemed okay, though I heard they usually have someone else there to really challenge candidates. The questions were mostly about client interaction, not very technical, which made me a bit worried they weren't assessing technical skills. The fourth interview was a mess – unorganized, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. Randall hadn't prepared at all and brought in a couple of other people. The questions were a bit more technical but still too basic for a tier 3 role. Midway through, Randall realized he forgot to print something, left, and came back with a surprise drug test that required consent. Due to my medication, I had trouble with the saliva tests. Randall, who was also swearing, suggested I could get tested professionally the next week because of the holidays. Two days later, I was informed they chose another candidate, which I suspect was due to the drug test issue.
- What's your approach when a client is upset near the end of the workday?
- What would you do if a firewall failed on-site during a routine UPS replacement?
Call Manager
It started with a great recruiter chat, then a really informative phone chat with the department head before scheduling the in-person interview. The recruiter kept me in the loop about what's next and what to expect, which helped me get ready. The in-person interview was super detailed and interactive with the department head and HR. The whole thing wrapped up in under 3 days and was a good experience.
- They were seeking genuine responses to the questions posed, with no particularly challenging or surprising inquiries.
Deployment Technician
It was pretty straightforward. The AME Group had open interviews when I applied. We met in a hotel meeting room, and after I gave them my resume, I got to talk directly with the hiring manager. I had to answer a couple of basic questions about my IT experience, and overall, it was very simple.
