First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Agora.
Marketing
I sent in my application online and then got a call from the HR manager for a phone chat. About two weeks after that, the same HR manager reached out again to schedule an in-person interview. This meeting was with two different managers. Following the in-person chat, I was given an online Thurstone test to complete. About a week after finishing the test, I was invited back for a second in-person interview, also with two managers. The day after this second meeting, I received a job offer.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What makes you want to work for this company and in this specific role?
- Describe a situation where you identified a problem and suggested solutions.
Digital Media Manager
I had a phone interview for this position that I applied for months ago. I did really well(her words) and was told she would be forwarding my information to the hiring manager. I sent a thank you letter and waited for two weeks to follow up. On the 3rd week, I followed up via email and no answer. I came onto glassdoor and saw that this same process happened to someone else as well. I just gave up and haven't reached out. Mainly because the HR rep emailed non stop prior to phone interview and has since dropped off the face of the earth.
- Were you asked general questions that didn't seem tailored to the job?
Copywriter
I got emails to set up a phone interview. After that, the hiring manager was supposed to get in touch. The HR person who interviewed me also looked at my resume and LinkedIn. I think the HR person is nice and knows their stuff, but they have a lot of jobs to fill, which must be hard. Since people might change their minds about what's important, filling all those jobs could be tricky.
- Would you be open to relocating?
- Could you share one thing about how you prefer to be treated in a work environment?
Email Marketing Manager
I had a 30-minute in-person interview with 5 people. Right after I left, they emailed me saying they'd already offered the position to someone else, even though they knew I drove over 2 hours for it. Then, someone from the company emailed me about another position and offered me that job, but called the next day to say, 'sorry about that, we've offered it to someone else.'
- Can you describe the most complex project you've undertaken?
