First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thales Alenia Space.
Embedded Software Engineer
It was a preliminary call about my motivations for applying and a technical discussion about the telecommunication system, including the transmission chain, specific acronyms used in the field, and how antennas and GPS function.
- What drove your interest in applying?
- Could you describe the transmission chain within telecommunication systems?
- What are the meanings of particular acronyms common in this field?
RF Test Engineer
This job is mainly for Telecommunication Engineers, and you need to be able to analyze the transceiver chain for both transmission and reception. An agency handled the hiring. The interview had two parts: first, a 15-20 minute chat with the consulting company, and then a more technical interview with HR from the actual company and some team reps who explained the job and asked technical questions.
- Describe the transceiver chain.
Solutions Architect
The process was direct and to the point. The first two interviews were technical, followed by a meeting with a business partner. If they're interested, they get back to you quickly. It's a professional and qualified team. A great company I’d recommend without hesitation. The projects are interesting and challenging.
- What is your experience related to the position offered?
Radiation Engineer
I went through two very similar hiring processes about two months apart, and both times it was quite disorganized. Interviews were scheduled with very little notice (like being called the day before for the next day). In the second application, I had to redo English and aptitude tests even though I was told my previous positive results would be kept for a year, which felt like a waste of time. Also, in both cases, I never got any spontaneous feedback; I had to chase them multiple times via email, even months later, to find out about my application status. Overall, it seems like there isn't much respect for candidates' time.
- What's your background with particular software?
