First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TGS-NOPEC.
Marketing Specialist
So there were two rounds for this position. First, I chatted with the CEO of TGS Prediktor to talk about my background and the company. Then, I had a case study discussion with the CEO and the VP of Marketing. They got back to me pretty fast after the interviews.
- Can you tell me about your experience with customer journey mapping?
Geoscientist
The process took a while for interview date confirmation and for getting a response from the company. This doesn't reflect well on their culture. They also weren't very accommodating regarding hybrid work flexibility.
- Could you walk me through your background and experience?
Graphic Designer
I had two interviews for a senior graphic designer role at TGS-NOPEC. The first interview was with the hiring manager and two associates. The second interview was with people in lateral roles, and they asked questions about management experience, even though that wasn't part of the job requirements. After that, I got an informal email saying they decided to hire for an art director role instead. TGS-NOPEC management is super unprofessional and indecisive. If you're hiring for a job, interview for that job, not a different one. Don't wait weeks to decide you're hiring for a management job after interviewing people for non-management roles. It's obvious they're trying to hire management art directors but pay them like senior designers, based on the portfolio and qualifications of the person who left the job. Just a heads-up, this is not the way to hire good employees.
- Did you manage design professionals?
Helpdesk Support
Had a short phone interview, then an on site conference call with the UK team. After that, there was a seven hour technical and workplace fit assessment day, followed by a third on site meeting with HR. I got a verbal job offer, but then two weeks later, while waiting for the contract, they said they wouldn't be filling the position because of the oil prices. It was a big waste of my time with a ridiculously long interview process that they could have easily made just one day.
- Can you describe your approach to implementing a software rollout policy?
