I had an initial conversation with Jeff N. from Recruiting. Jeff was great. While the role ended up not being a good fit for my skill level. I enjoyed my conversation with Jeff. We discussed why the role would not be a good fit for me and he was honest with his feedback and I appreciated that. He is an amazing reflection of Textio.

Standard PM process, first a phone screen, then a 45-minute hiring manager interview, followed by a 6-hour on-site interview which included a presentation. It was a super well-thought-out process and totally professional, you can tell this company has their stuff together. The only weird part was the presentation needed deep domain knowledge in an industry totally unrelated to Textio's product. They really focus on user problems and your prioritization thought process, so you need to know that industry inside and out. In a 1:1 after the presentation, a senior interviewer asked me like one question about my actual experience, and then maybe 10 specific questions about the exercise, which is in a totally different industry than my background or Textio's product. So if you don't have domain knowledge for the prompt, you really gotta spend time researching it. Which is obviously not feasible in the 6-8 hour prep time for the presentation, so have fun with that!

I applied online and got a quick response from a recruiter. The recruitment process was straightforward, and the team was really open and helpful. It started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a 'technical' interview with the hiring manager. This included a take-home assignment where I had to create a 1-pager based on a product scenario. After that, I went through a full interview loop with people from different departments at Textio. Things moved fast, and I usually heard back within a day about the next steps. Everyone I met seemed genuinely interested in my background. The final round interviews left me feeling positive about the discussions. I felt like Textio truly lives up to its values. The sense I got of the team's mission and culture during the interviews lined up with what was presented on their website and social media. The entire process felt more personal than other interviews I've had. I ended up accepting another offer, but I'd definitely recommend Textio; it was one of the best candidate experiences I had during my job search.
