Videographer Photographer
Got a phone call from someone in the department, who then set up a virtual group interview pretty fast. It had five staff members and went for about an hour. The person leading it seemed a bit distant, but the others were fine. Things were going okay until I asked why the job was open at the end. They seemed uncomfortable and didn't really answer directly, even after an awkward pause. I was told they'd let me know in a couple of weeks, but after I followed up with emails and heard nothing, I got an automated HR rejection over five weeks later. It's pretty disappointing that none of the interviewers bothered to reply directly, especially since they reached out to me. Clearly, there's a reason this role keeps getting refilled every few years.
- How do you handle situations where a client is dissatisfied with the media you've produced for them?
Administrative Assistant
After submitting my application, I waited about a month before getting an interview call. I ended up having 2 interviews in total. The first interview was a panel with 4 interviewers who asked me about my past job experience and how much I knew about the department I was applying to.
- Can you describe your current job responsibilities?
- What software are you proficient in?
- Can you share a time you faced a challenging situation and how you resolved it?
Circulation
It was a very casual interview. The questions were pretty straightforward and standard. They mainly asked about what you think should be done in daily operations. Also, they asked about your experience and qualifications for the job.
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
Records Management
I went through two interviews, and the people I spoke with were really nice. It was a pretty fast process. The first interview was over the phone, and then the second one was on Zoom. A few days later, they offered me the job, and I had to turn in my school records along with a background check.
- Could you tell me what you consider to be your strongest academic ability?
