Marketing
So, I had this interview for an entry-level marketing role, but it felt super weird. The person interviewing me wasn't HR or the hiring manager, just some other employee. Turns out, it's a pyramid scheme! When I asked about salary, since their Indeed posting looked good, they just talked about "commission" and "bonuses," totally avoiding the actual salary question. Then they asked me how much I wanted to make, and basically said I'd make about that much based on "performance," implying I could earn way more. Smelled like a scam from the get-go. I checked fake Glassdoor reviews and found the real ones confirming it's a scam. They called me three times after that trying to "hire" me, which just proved it. No legit company tries that hard to hire someone.
- How do you handle rejection?
Sales Associate
They gave me a call and set up a Zoom interview, offering a few time slots to choose from. I picked the one that worked best and joined the Zoom call at the scheduled time.
- Can you tell me about your long-term career aspirations?
Sales Representative
I had a phone call where they asked about my background and gave me basic job descriptions. They also talked about training. Then, they mentioned a hiring manager would contact me the next day for an informational interview.
- Why are you seeking new employment?
Account Manager
The interview started right on time and felt efficient and professional. Even though Zoom interviews can feel a bit impersonal, this one was actually warm, friendly, and personal. We figured out there were some scheduling issues that meant it wouldn't be a good fit for either of us, but it was still a good experience.
- Tell me about your motivations and goals.
