It started with a phone call to screen me, then I had an online test which was more like a personality test. After that, I had an in-person meeting with the district manager. The interviews were pretty casual, mostly to see if I'd be a good fit.

I went through 4 interviews. One of them was a personality test. Another was a meeting with my spouse where it seemed like the agency manager was asking for my spouse's permission for me to work there. They didn't really inform us both about what to expect, like the several weeklong training out of town and monthly meetings that might require an overnight stay out of town.

I applied for this Insurance Agent job on Indeed and got an interview invite to a local office. The first meeting was with one person who asked about my interest in insurance, my childhood, family, and what drives me (they're only looking for money as an answer). A week later, I had a second meeting with the same person and another interviewer. They repeated the earlier questions and then asked about my religion and church affiliation, which is a legal issue. I decided to withdraw my application after that. The job is 1099, requires training in Waco, and allows flexible scheduling. It's not suitable for beginners in insurance as they expect you to be productive immediately after training, which is unrealistic for new agents. The office environment was old-fashioned and conservative. Sales must be done in person at the customer's home, not over the phone. It's crucial to pay close attention during interviews and observe the office atmosphere and the people you meet.
