First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Texans Credit Union.
Assistant Branch Manager
There were three rounds. The first was a phone interview. I thought it would be a basic role explanation and simple questions, but they were tougher than expected. The second and third interviews were with the Sales Manager and Branch Manager, and then the Sales Manager and District Manager, respectively.
- How would you handle a situation where employee conflicts are negatively impacting the branch's atmosphere?
- If your branch is falling short of its sales targets, what actions would you implement?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process had 2 interviews. The first interview was easy and contingent on passing the credit check and background check. Then, you would have a second interview which could be in person or on webX. The second interview was more intense.
- Do you have a favorite manager and do you have a least favorite manager?

So the hiring process was a bit chaotic because they had a lot of turnover in HR/recruiting when I applied, which made me really appreciate how much recruiters do. I had one phone interview with the hiring manager. He actually had me call him, which is a bit different from the usual. While I was qualified, I don't think our personalities would have meshed well; we seemed like total opposites. The hiring manager's personality was very bland, and even when I tried to get a conversation going, he was really quiet and didn't seem to have great people skills. Although Texans seems like a good place to work, I don't think I would have enjoyed working with him.
- What is your five-year plan?
- Tell me about your underwriting review experience.

It started with a phone interview. The hiring manager was super nice and seemed like a good guy to work with/for. I received an email after the phone call stating they would like for an in person interview. However prior to that they would need to run a credit report. My report had 1 outstanding balance and a 770 credit score. This apparently was not "okay" as i received another email 2 days later stating they would be going in a different direction.
- Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?
