First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TetraScience.
Data Engineer
It was a 5-7 stage interview process. It included a live coding test, data schema visualisation, some technical questions, and a business alignment discussion. Everyone was very kind, the CEO was communicative, and the culture gave me a good impression.
- Live coding test
- Data schema visualisation
- Technical questions
Senior Data Engineer
I had one meeting with the Director, followed by a technical live coding session on CoderPad where I was given a nested object/iteration challenge. After the live coding, they ghosted me with no further communication, which was negative and unprofessional.
- How would you approach iterating through a nested object in Python?
- Can you describe a situation using the STAR method?
Data Engineer
The interview process was quite extensive and felt unnecessarily long. It began with general calls with both the technical manager and HR, each lasting about an hour. Following this, there was a technical interview session. The first part involved an hour-long discussion, and then another hour was dedicated to live coding. I managed to solve the medium-level LeetCode problem presented, which I thought was surprisingly difficult for the role, but it wasn't enough. The next step was a take-home assignment where I had to create a presentation about their platform. I was given access, but the platform and its documentation were poorly organized. After figuring out the basics, they then asked me to debug their messy platform to assess my testing and debugging abilities, all for free. This phase required several hours of my time, which led me to withdraw from the process, unsure if an offer would have materialized or if they were just seeking free work.
- Tell me about your experience at previous companies.
- Can you answer some basic and medium Python questions?
- Solve an easy LeetCode problem.
