Senior QA Engineer
The interview process involved one round with Test Yantra and another with the client, Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company. It was an easy and cooperative interview, and overall the experience was good. The process was also okay; the QA manager from Canara HSBC called me after 7 pm because it was urgent hiring, which was also okay.
- Can you explain regression testing?
- What is retesting?
- Describe the bug life cycle.
QA Engineer
First up is a video chat with a recruiter to go over your background and skills, and for you to ask them stuff about the job and company. Then, there's a technical interview to check your software testing skills. You might get coding problems or questions about testing strategies, how you'd test a feature, or your general methodology. The last interview is with the hiring manager and will probably cover how you'd fit with the team and company values, your career plans, and what you're looking for salary-wise.
- Tell me about your software testing experience.
- What testing methodologies have you used before?
- How do you determine what needs to be tested and what can be skipped?
Quality Assurance Engineer
They asked me questions like what's the downside to the POM model and where would you locate a common web element like a logout button or navigate link that appears on every page. We also discussed Agile, like what is velocity and how to calculate it. They asked how I'd handle a dynamic webElement, what testing I'd do without clear requirements, and when UAT testing is performed. I was asked about challenges I faced in the Ur project and how I'd manage a situation where three out of four testers are suddenly out. Lastly, we covered Maven and pom.xml, its purpose, and what continuous integration is and how it was used in the Ur project.
- What are the disadvantages of the POM model?
- Given a logout button or navigation link present on all pages, on which page would you locate this web element?
- What is velocity in Agile?
