So there were two rounds in total with 4 people. First, I met with the accounting manager. Then, the second round had two parts. First part was with the controller and cost accountant. Second part was with the CFO. Everyone was super nice and easy to chat with.

Flew out to California from New Mexico, and I paid for it. The interview was about an hour long on a Saturday with the President of a new startup company that's looking to build an aluminum casting plant. I waited about 45 minutes, then introduced myself, showed some drawings and samples, and got a tour of the office. I asked about benefits and if it was a salaried position. They made me a salaried offer, which I accepted, and we scheduled my start date.

After an initial phone call with the recruiter, I had an on-site interview where I met with many different employees one-on-one. Since it's a small company, it's important to get along with everyone, which can be tricky. The job involves a lot of travel, so the interview process moved slowly because people were often out of the office. Everything went through the recruiter. I sent thank you notes to the recruiter and hiring manager, but never heard back. The recruiter said I was still being considered and that they had more interviews, then stopped responding. I didn't follow up much because I wasn't interested enough to invest more time. The hiring manager had promised to let me know about a decision either way, but that never happened.

The interview process was great! HR and the hiring manager were really upfront and honest about everything. They shared the current situation and gave me the real picture. The company's focus is on finding the right person for the job and the team. They also checked my references to confirm my professional background. There were two phone interview rounds and two onsite interview rounds.
