Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies.
Engineer
I got an email to set up two online interviews: one with the director and another with a group of engineers. They asked standard engineering questions about my background and technical questions about med device design controls and how I solve problems. I didn't get an offer after the panel interview, but I did appreciate that Terumo BCT let me know they chose someone else instead of leaving me hanging.
- Could you explain the distinction between design verification and design validation?
Engineer
I had a good welcome but was asked a lot of questions. The first interview was online, and then I had an in-person one. They asked things like, what have I done so far. First, I was asked to talk about myself, which took about 20 minutes, and then they started asking questions.
- What is your past experience?
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why did you choose this company?
Engineer
It was a regular interview. Most questions were about behaviours. Technical questions were basic. The interview process started by a HR representative and followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager. During the onsite, I was interviewed by people from the same team, the hiring manager, and a senior manager. Those three interviews took 30 mins each.
- Can you describe your past work experiences and any projects you've worked on?
