First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at terrain.
Merchandise Assistant
I was interviewed over the course of three days by five to six different people! All very nice! My biggest issue was the lack of response from the team in terms of questions following the interview process.
- What is the extent of your plant knowledge?
Assistant Manager
I was contacted by three people for interviews: a regional manager, a cafe manager, and a chef. After talking to them all, I was asked to do a work try out. The chef said it would be about 2 hours and I'd get a meal, but I ended up working for 3 hours and only got an iced tea. It was unprofessional not to provide the meal as promised.
- Why are you interested in working for this company?
Designer
I applied online and after a few weeks, I had two quick phone interviews that went well and felt easy. Then, I was asked to do some spec work, which involved completing multiple tasks. I sent in three separate email submissions of my work on the specific days I was supposed to. After that, I never received any reply or feedback on the spec work I completed.
- What are your sources of inspiration?
Photographer
The whole interview process took about 4-5 months, starting from my application in June and ending with an offer the week of Thanksgiving. I went through multiple screener calls, one in July, then got ghosted for a bit. They contacted me again in September, leading to a first round, then a second round. After that, they asked me to come to Philly for a 2-day in-person work/interview session. It felt like a really long and overly complicated process, especially for the low salary offered. This disorganized experience ultimately led me to turn down the job, and it didn't give me a great impression of working at URBN. However, the people at Terrain were great.
- Can you describe how you'd fit into our team?
