The team was super friendly and the interviews were relaxed and conversational, mostly about my portfolio and background. But the take-home assignment was confusingly vague. I got almost no direction on what they wanted, then they said my work was excellent, but not what they were looking for. They asked me to rework it with new guidance, and after doing that, decided not to move me forward. Everyone I met seemed warm and kind, but the process had unclear expectations and lacked structure. It felt like they want you to read their minds instead of providing clarity.

The whole thing moved really quickly. First, I spoke with HR, then the manager. After that, there was a technical interview, and they sent over a take-home test which I finished way faster than they probably expected within the 3-day window they gave. No feedback came through as the week went on, so I reached out to check on my application status and found out I didn't make it. No feedback, just like they always promise. Total waste of my time.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • HR wanted to know about my salary expectations.
  • The technical interview focused on technologies and my working style.

So I talked to the recruiter and then the hiring manager. Then a couple of weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything, so they sent over a design project. It was a big unpaid design test: design a multi-page white paper, create a new brand element and put it in the white paper, design a social media ad for the white paper, make the ad animated, and then create a presentation explaining my process. I also had to give them layered design files for everything. They said I'd hear back in a week after I submitted it, but I never heard anything back, not even a rejection. My advice if you're interviewing for a creative role at Terra is to not give them free work.

I found this job on LinkedIn and they reached out pretty fast. My first interview was with HR about a week later. It was a really nice chat, they were super friendly and made me feel right at home. After that, I moved on to talk with the COO. I can't recall the exact time, but we definitely covered my whole resume and all his questions. It was another friendly, positive conversation. Then, about a week later, I got an email saying I was on to the final stage: a project brief. I had to write a two-page brief on a topic related to the role. I sent it back two days later and then had my in-person interview at a WeWork. We discussed the brief, and it was a great conversation that made me even more excited about the job. Two days after that, I got the offer!
