I applied on Indeed and then HR contacted me. They asked some general questions about my experience. Then I had a hands-on test, which we can call a practical assessment, to determine key factors like experience, knowledge, and tech-savviness. They ask a lot of questions about experience and dental knowledge, which I like because it means they don't need to train someone if they're already prepared.

It's pretty easy going with about two or three steps. First, you'll have a phone interview with the recruiter. Then, there's an in-person meet with the office manager. Depending on how things go, there might be a work interview too. You'll also negotiate your salary. The whole thing takes about 1 or 2 weeks, depending on how quickly they need someone.

So I went through a pretty long interview process, there were like seven interviews with different people like the hiring manager, HR, the lead designer, the CTO, and even the CEO. The last thing was this whiteboarding session with a bunch of people, including the hiring manager. I've done these whiteboarding things a bunch, and it really matters how experienced the hiring manager is with them. This hiring manager was good, they gave just enough help without making it too easy. Overall, the questions felt fair and like they really checked if I was a good fit. The HR person was quick to respond, and the process moved smoothly, giving me time to get ready for the next interview without feeling like I was waiting around.

I applied online and got a recruiter call for the position. The recruiter call was very odd with generic questions. The company seems monochromatic with only Caucasian staff and one Asian woman in senior roles. The only non-Caucasian was promoted to 'assistant manager' from front desk. HR is from Tennessee and unresponsive. This is one startup to stay away from, it feels like racism and the product manager rating is fake.
