First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Temple University Health System.
Director of Reimbursement Management
The interview process was frustrating. I initially spoke with HR, Sean Patton, who was pleasant. Then, I had a great conversation with the Associate Dean and the Director of Insurance. They interviewed me well and seemed professional. However, on the day of my interview with the dean, his assistant called to say I shouldn't come in due to my background not being a good fit. This was very upsetting, especially since I was supposed to meet with him via Zoom, but it felt like his decision was already made. I haven't heard back since, and I interpret that as a negative response. I imagine this would be upsetting for anyone looking for a job.
- Can you share how you identified a problem with the billing process at your previous organization?
- Describe how you identified an issue with your organization's billing process.
- How did you discover issues within your organization's billing process?
Registered Nurse
My interview was super chill. She had me introduce myself and then she told me all about the unit and asked if I had any questions. She then asked what 3 things I'd contribute to the nursing team and what I hoped to get out of the job. She also asked about prioritizing care if 5 patients needed attention at once. Finally, she asked how I'd handle a situation where a patient was immediately difficult.
- What are three attributes you would bring to the team at Temple?
- In a situation with 5 patients all needing assistance simultaneously, how would you decide who to help first?
- How would you respond if a patient expressed they did not want you as their nurse at the start of your shift?
Clinical Research Financial Analyst
Applied online then was emailed to set up a phone interview. Wasted time looking up info and preparing for the interview just to get on the phone and the HR lady rushing to ask me what interests me in the position. And I thought ok normal question and answered based on the job title/description. Halfway through my answer she interrupts me to say the job description is not accurate and it's not really a financial analyst position. It's a billing position doing mostly billing and accounting which I'm not interested in. She said they're not allowed to update the job description on the posting?!
- What prompted your interest in this role?
Financial Services
The interview had two parts. First, I had a panel interview with department managers, and then I interviewed with the Vice President. Both interviews were about thirty minutes each. The department managers went over the job description and what they expect. They also asked about my background and how my skills could benefit the department.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
- Could you explain the job description and expectations?
- How do you think your skills could be applied within the department?
