First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tempe Union High School District.
Special Education Paraprofessional
The initial application process is kinda long, but you can save your progress. After I sent in my application, I got a call the next day for an interview at a school. The interview was held on campus. The supervisor was really nice and made me feel welcome.
- Are there any aspects of working with special needs children that you might find uncomfortable?
Substitute Teacher
I got all my sign-in info, and I think badge and credentials were submitted during the meeting. I knew my skills would be a plus, and I have good technical skills.
- Tell me about your experience.
- Can you describe your background?
- What are your salary expectations?
District Office Employee
it was surprisingly detailed, they presented a scenario and asked 'what would you do?'. The questions they asked made it seem like they already had a specific candidate in mind. I was professional and prepared, and they were polite. There was a round-table with 6-7 representatives.
- What is your plan for this department?
Network Engineer
I applied for a part-time internal help desk role at a high school district, as I'm looking for something less demanding than a full-time sysadmin position. About a month after applying, I received a call for an interview for a Network Engineer role that heavily involved Cisco. I used to have a CCNA but it's expired now. The job seemed focused on network design. It's funny because it looks like the system also applied me for a bus driver position. The interview itself was pretty much what I expected. They asked about Cisco, I answered, and then the director skipped over four questions on his list. At the end, I asked about the help desk job since that's what I'm really interested in. I'm not optimistic about getting a callback for it, though.
