Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TELUS.
Sales
It was a pleasant and fast interview. They asked directed questions that were relevant to the job. They wanted to hear about my sales experience and difficult situations. We also did a role-play of a sales scenario. They also asked about my personal hobbies and activities.
- Tell me about your hobbies and what you like to do in your free time.
- Can you describe your sales experience?

Sales Representative
I got a call about 4 days after I submitted my application. They scheduled me for a Zoom interview that should take about 15-20 minutes. They asked about my experience, how I handle difficult customers, my background in sales, and if I'm willing to work under pressure, among other things.
- How many years of experience in sales do you have?
- Tell me about your sales experience.
- How would you deal with a challenging customer?
Sales Representative
Had a quick online assessment, then a phone interview. The face-to-face interview for the store was a mess though. I waited over 30 minutes past the scheduled time for the interviewer because they were out, and the store itself looked like it really needed a facelift. The interview itself was just okay. They said I'd hear back by the end of the day about a definite second interview and that I'd for sure get seen within the week. A week went by and still no call or email about a second interview. I sent the manager a polite email but got no response. I never even got a chance for a second interview, and still no reply, even if they chose someone else. It really shows how unprofessional Telus is and their high employee turnover.
- What are your basic sales skills?
- Can you describe some of your behavioral assessments?
