Marketing Manager
First, you'll have a phone call screening call with the recruiter to review your application and why you are interested in the role. Second, if selected to proceed to the interview stage, you will be sent a a case study to prep 2-3 days before the interview and present to the hiring manager and team members. Third, if selected, you will have a chat with the Director to see if you are a culture fit for the role and team. Fourth, you will receive a contract with salary and opportunity to negotiate before accepting and signing.
- Regarding the case study provided before the interview, please outline your proposed strategy and execution plan for this project.
Marketing Manager
A recruiter reached out about a short-term Marketing Manager position. I had a call with the hiring manager, then a case study to complete and present. The presentation was to a panel including the hiring manager and two other marketing managers. During the case study discussion about a plan for an upcoming event, the team seemed very interested and asked lots of questions about the process and strategy to cover any gaps. I had my doubts but did my best because I wanted the role. Lesson learned - I won't do case studies for free again!
- Can you walk us through the go-to-market strategy for this launch, step by step?
Marketing Manager
It was a really disorganized interview process. I went through four stages: HR, the hiring manager, a panel, and then the senior team leader who missed the panel. I had to prep a case study that they gave me only 30 minutes to present, and the parameters were super vague. During the presentation, I mentioned I had to make a lot of assumptions. They cut my presentation time to 15 minutes because they asked so many questions upfront, and then they questioned why I didn't have details they themselves didn't provide. I thought the interview went well, and I had another interview afterward. They told me the hiring manager was on vacation for two weeks and I'd hear then. Six weeks later, I got an automated rejection. I later found out they hired someone internally. Total waste of time.
- Can you share an example of how you handled a difficult situation?
- Describe an instance where you led the implementation of a process within your team.
- Present a marketing recommendation that covers both media and creative aspects.
