First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TELUS.
Account Manager
It was intense, but short and straightforward. The first screening was standard, and then there was a 2-hour interview that included a prospecting email, sales presentation, mock calls, and a general interview part. It demanded a lot of prep, but all the key people were present, and they decided pretty quickly. No months of waiting and interviewing over and over!
- Can you explain your thought process behind this prospecting email?
Account Manager
So I had a preliminary interview with Telus for an account manager role. It was pretty organized and professional. The person interviewing me was nice and asked some Behavioral Descriptive Interview (BDI) questions so I could talk about my experience and skills. It was a good talk, I got a clear idea of the job and the team. I liked that I could talk about my background and how it fits with Telus's values and what they want to do. It was a good experience overall, excited for what's next.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Account Manager
The hiring process starts with passing the resume screening and online registration. Next, there's an HR initial interview where 2 to 4 applicants are interviewed together. This is followed by a computer typing test and then a written exam, which is all about English. The company states that if you're new to BPO, you have a 40% chance of getting the job, regardless of your education, as they prioritize applicants with BPO experience.
- Can you tell me something about yourself?
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
- Why did you choose to work in BPO, and have you considered other career paths?
