& Process

There were two interviews, first with the hiring manager and then a panel with all the department heads in the OU. A good amount of time passed between interviews and the final decision.

First, there was an HR screening where we talked about my background, if I was interested, and if I fit the role. Then, a technical interview where we went over functional testing, designing test cases, tools like Jira, and how I'd handle real-world problems. If it was applicable, there was a practical assessment, maybe writing test cases or debugging some code. After that, a managerial or team interview to see how I collaborate, if I'm adaptable, and if I'd fit with the team culture. Finally, a discussion about salary, what the role entails, and the next steps before an offer.

Got an email from a recruiter to set up the first interview with them, then the hiring manager. Then, there was a second interview with a VP, the hiring manager, and another person who didn't say anything. They mentioned they'd make a decision in a couple of weeks, but I didn't hear back for two months. The first interview went really well, I felt a great connection with the hiring manager, and it seemed like a sure thing. However, during the second interview, she was totally different. From the moment I arrived, she was really distant and hardly spoke to me. It was a very unusual and disappointing experience.

Applied online and got an email from a recruiter. The recruiter's emails were a bit rude, asking me to re-confirm stuff I already put in my application. Also asked me to re-read the requirements and then confirm if I was confident about them before sending my salary expectations. Felt like they weren't considering me from the start. Scheduled a phone call which was okay but felt rushed. Didn't hear back for over a month, then got a rejection email.
