Applied online and about a week later got an email for a technical interview, no recruiter chat first. This felt impersonal and didn't help me understand the company or role. I picked available times and got an invite. On the interview day, 25 minutes before, I got an email saying it was cancelled because it was accidentally scheduled on a bank holiday. I knew it was a holiday but thought they'd still do it since the slot was available. After rescheduling, I had the interview with a nice senior engineer. The task wasn't like LeetCode; it involved looking at code, explaining it, fixing a bug, and suggesting improvements. It went well, then we moved to general questions. I was asked about microservices and Python generally, and then some super specific Python questions that felt like a college quiz on definitions. This was odd for a professional interview. After, I got a generic rejection email saying my experience didn't align with their current needs, which was strange since nothing in the interview seemed outside my experience.

Applied on Linkedin. Then there's a 30min call with a Recruiter, and if that goes well, you move to stage three. Stage three is a 1hr technical interview with a senior software engineer where you answer some python questions and talk more about your experience. Lastly, there's an assignment you have a week to complete.

I applied through LinkedIn and got an automated email to provide my availability for the next week. I did that and asked some questions about the job, but it took two weeks to get an invite for a technical interview. All the communication felt automated, with no explanation for the delays or answers to my questions about the contract type. The technical interview had a coding exercise, which they surprisingly disclosed beforehand (a common recursive algorithm). The interview itself went well; for the coding part, the interviewer just asked me to write down the algorithm they'd already given me, which took about 5 seconds. After that, there was silence for a week. I emailed for feedback and got a generic, automated rejection.
