First, your application/resume gets screened. Recruiters or bots look for keywords like Python, Django/FastAPI, SQL, React, and check for clear project experience and good formatting. Then, there’s a recruiter phone screen, about 15-30 minutes, with a recruiter who might not be technical. They confirm your background, experience, location, and salary needs. They might ask a behavioral question, like about a project you enjoyed. Be energetic and clear; they're checking your enthusiasm and how you communicate. After that, a technical screen happens. This could be a take-home coding test on platforms like HackerRank or Codility, or a live coding session. They'll test your Python coding, algorithms, problem-solving, complexity analysis, and sometimes SQL and basic system design. When coding live, talk through your thought process. It's not just about getting it right, but also how you solve it.

The first round was a cocubes test and it was easy. It had two sections: an aptitude section with easy multiple-choice questions on topics like ratios, percentages, reasoning, and English vocabulary, and a DSA section which was also easy. Last time, there were three questions: two logic-based easy ones, and the third was to reverse a linked list. They also looked at how the code was written, including space and time complexity.

  • Can you tell me about C++ basics?
  • What's the difference between virtual and full virtual functions?
  • Explain deep copy versus shallow copy.
