The interview process was very straightforward. It involved one interview with HR, and then a second interview with the hiring managers. The interviewers were professional, respectful, and welcoming. The discussions focused on my previous work experience, salary expectations, and time management and organizational skills.

In the phone interview, they asked why I'm interested in tegus. It's a chance to show I'm passionate and really interested in this specific area. I could say how I've been fascinated by tegus since I visited a zoo or after looking them up online because they're so unique. This personal connection shows I'm genuinely interested and committed to the field, which can help the interviewer see my motivation. Also, when talking about leading a project, I could go into detail about a specific project where I led a team or initiative. I'd discuss the challenges, how I handled them, and what the results were. This shows my leadership skills, how I manage projects, and my ability to get things done.

Technical Behavioral

There were 3 rounds total. First, a 30 min HR call. Then, a 1 hr technical interview. They didn't ask behavioural questions during the technical screen, but they did ask typical equity research questions like the impact of an S10 goodwill impairment on the 3 statements, showing a model and asking what you think the company does, and how to calculate a missing ratio. Finally, there was a 1hr Behavioural interview, where they asked what you are looking to get out of this role.

Confirmed questions5 questions

  • Can you explain the impact of an S10 goodwill impairment on the three financial statements?
  • Given this model, what is your assessment of the company's business?

I got reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn. The recruiter was really nice and easy to talk to. Then, about a week later, I heard back that they were going with other people. I asked if they could give me any pointers on what went wrong so I could get better, like if it was my experience or how I did in the talks, but they said there's a rule against sharing that kind of feedback. The recruiter was great, but having a policy that stops them from giving feedback during interviews seems off and stops candidates from learning or knowing if they should even apply again. It's the policy I have a problem with, not the recruiter at all.
