First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TECO-Westinghouse.
Accounting Manager
I interviewed with the CFO and the Accounting Team and they seemed really sharp and like a great group to work with. It sounds like a high-energy workplace with a very quick month-end close. I didn't get the offer for the job I applied for, but they did offer me a different position. At first, I turned it down because it wasn't what I was looking for. However, I liked the team so much that I decided to accept it, but it was no longer available by then. Maybe I'll get a chance to work with them down the line, but it just wasn't the right fit this time.
- Can you describe your background with multi-entity consolidations?
Product Support
HR contacted me a couple days after I applied and we set up an interview time. I got an email with details on parking, entry, and check-in. I met the HR rep, who was nice and professional, and was taken to a conference room. I was told I'd speak with two managers. The first manager came in, asked about my past experience, and told me a bit about their company. Then the second manager did the same thing. They both seemed knowledgeable and laid back. I wished they'd asked more specific questions so I could gauge their impression of me better. The questions felt generic and somewhat structured, so I wasn't sure how I did. Afterward, the HR rep met with me, explained HR policies, gave me an info packet, and I was shown out. I got an email within a week saying I wasn't selected. Overall, the process was straightforward and a positive experience.
- The questions asked were not difficult or surprising given the company's products and services.
Software Engineer
The interview process included a phone screen, a Skype interview, and an in-person (F2F) meeting, with a potential follow-up Skype session. Each part of the interview was quite lengthy, which I found enjoyable. While the questions weren't overly technical, they were insightful and probed principles deeply through open-ended questions, making it feel more like a discussion than a standard technical interview.
- Can you discuss general software topics?
- Could you explain the functionality of this Verilog code snippet?
- Tell me about your approach to design methodology.
Human Resources
I applied on LinkedIn and chatted with HR first before they set up the interview. I ended up talking to a few different people, and the interviews were kinda hit or miss. They mostly asked typical HR stuff.
