First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Technical Resources International.
Medical Writer
There were several interview rounds, including a writing assessment and a test for attention to detail. I also had 3 interviews with people at different levels in the company. They asked the typical questions like why I thought I'd be a good fit and about my working style. After I finished all the interviews and tests, they said they liked me, we talked about compensation and benefits, and they were supposed to send me the official offer letter. But then they totally ghosted me and never sent the contract. It was one of the wildest things that's ever happened to me.
- Describe a situation where you were assigned a critical task and explain your approach to managing it.
- What makes you believe you would be a suitable candidate for this position?
- Could you describe your preferred method of working?
Regulatory Specialist
I applied online and they reached out about a week later. They had me do a writing test where I had to write a sample summary report. After they looked at it, they set up an interview. It was weird that it took another 3 weeks for the in-person interview, and they mentioned I was also being considered for another role. When I got there, I had to fill out a paper application with my resume info. They were running behind and seemed disorganized. I met with different people, like my potential supervisor, a manager, and current staff. They also had me do a proofreading test right then and there. I was a bit bothered when I heard a manager say, 'I thought you canceled that interview!' about the second position, which was unprofessional since I could hear them. Then, they put together a random group of people for a weird group panel interview. The HR person couldn't meet that day, so they said we'd do that part over the phone. I followed up to schedule the call, and then followed up again because I didn't get the call. After the HR interview finally happened, I got a letter saying they chose someone else. Looking back, they probably already knew who they wanted. Their process felt unprofessional and disrespectful compared to other places.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What would you say is your biggest strength?
- What's your most significant weakness?
Regulatory Affairs Specialist
I applied online a couple of years ago, and after they followed up, they asked me to complete a questionnaire. The whole interview process took almost 3 hours. They asked behavior-based questions and surprisingly required three supervisor-level references upfront, which I thought was a bit much – any professional reference should be enough. After my interview, they did contact my references, but I never got an offer or any update on whether they chose another candidate. It really felt like a waste of my references' time, and they were my former supervisors too. So, just a heads-up, be careful and pick your references wisely.
- How would you handle a situation with two employees who are being confrontational?
Communications Specialist
The interview was a pleasant experience and lasted about two hours. It started with a form similar to a job application that required resume information. The first interview was with someone from the Communications department who explained the role and the department. She asked questions, mostly scenario-based, choosing from a list. Then, I interviewed with a director, followed by an HR representative. They were particularly interested in my writing background.
- What would be your course of action if you were unable to reach your supervisor?
