First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TDE Baltimore.
Intern
So the interview process was split into 3 interviews. The first one was a quick chat to get to know one of the main reps. Then I got called back for a second interview with what seemed like two junior reps. The third interview was barely even an interview, just a super quick 5-minute follow-up at the end of the second one. I felt like I was misled about this being a paid internship, they didn't answer questions about work hours or pay until the very end, even when I asked. The junior reps and front desk didn't know the details of the internship position. Turns out it was a 100% commission door-to-door sales job with weird hours, maybe M-F 10AM-8PM? They wanted professional attire in the office but then dress down to a Polo/casual for door-to-door sales, all in the same day.
- Did you ever have a job where everyone got paid the same no matter how well they did? That probably felt unfair, didn't it?
Account Representative
I came in person, which I liked much better than a phone interview. There were a few other people interviewing the same day, but everyone got their own interview. It was probably the shortest interview I've ever been through. They vaguely described the company and the specific position, and I feel like I never got a complete understanding of either. Then they asked about my past experiences.
- Can you explain the gaps in your resume?
- What are your reasons for leaving your previous job(s)?
- What is your best trait?
Account Executive
The interview process is pretty much the same as for full-time Account Execs. First, there's a screening interview where they check out your first impression and go over your resume. If you make a good impression, maintain eye contact, and seem confident, they'll invite you back for a full day of shadowing a top sales rep. At the end of that day, you'll have a final interview with the boss. If the sales rep liked you, then it's basically yours to lose.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
- What's your pitch for why we should hire you?
Sales Representative
It was a three step process. Everyone I talked to was really nice and made me feel comfortable. The second interview felt like I was just chatting with a friend over lunch. In the last round, the manager just checked in about my previous interview and made sure I knew what the job was about.
- What would your previous manager say about you?
