First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TCL.
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was quite straightforward, focusing mainly on instrumentation-related questions. You just need to recall basic concepts in instrumentation and control systems. They also check if you are willing to relocate anywhere in India.
- Could you introduce yourself and answer some fundamental questions about instrumentation engineering?
- Tell me about your understanding of basic instrumentation concepts.
- What are your thoughts on basic control system principles?
Regulatory Manager
So first there was a phone screen, then 2 technical interviews, and then a final call with the HR manager and he extended the verbal offer. The HQ HR in China offered me a salary that was 13% below the upper value of the range that was posted. This wasted 2 months of my time. I continued to negotiate for quite some time, but they were unwilling to meet me at a compromised base salary.
- Do you think propane will be enforced as the US refrigerant?
Channel Manager
The interview process was pretty standard for what they were looking for. I had two video calls and then an in-person interview at their office. The weird part was that even though it was in person, the whole panel joined virtually, so my being there in person didn't seem necessary. Also, the HR Manager wasn't even there, and the meeting started late, like they forgot about it. After the third interview, they totally went dark and wouldn't respond to calls. It would have been better to at least know I didn't get the job instead of seeing it reposted later.
- Tell me how you would go about getting information from other departments when there is a lack of information from the PM team.
Marketing Assistant
I interviewed with the HR manager, Marketing Director and Events Manager, and they all seemed really nice. They gave me positive feedback and said I had a lot of the experience they were looking for. The HR manager wrapped things up by saying they'd discuss options and I'd hear back within a week. I followed up a week later, thanking them and asking about their decision timeline. They mentioned they extended interviews for another week and would get back to me. After waiting another 2 weeks, I called to follow up one last time and left a voicemail for the HR manager. It's been another 2 weeks and I still haven't heard back. They definitely make you feel optimistic and then leave you hanging, without even the courtesy to let me know if I'm not being considered.

- What motivates your interest in this position?
