So the interview process was quite long. It started with an initial phone screen, which wasn't technical at all. Then, I had to do a coding exercise that took about 30 minutes. After about a week or two, I had a technical phone interview, which I think went pretty well. The next step was an onsite technical interview. During the onsite, they really dug into my past experience and also went over the coding exercise I submitted. They asked things like how I might improve a specific method or hypothetical 'what if' situations. There were also two whiteboard problems: one involved writing a sample class (I totally blanked on starting this one) and another was about a SQL/database scenario. Honestly, I think I did okay on most of it, except for that first whiteboard problem. I really liked the company and the people I met, but it just didn't work out for this specific role.

The interview process began with a 60-minute phone call with the recruiter, who was very thorough in getting to know me as a candidate and easy to talk to. Next, I had a video interview with the hiring manager, who was also very approachable. This was followed by a third video interview with the portfolio director, who was also quite friendly. Throughout the process, they provided a lot of information about the position and TCG. Although I felt confident about receiving an offer, it didn't work out in the end. The recruiter was great at keeping me updated at every stage, and I'd welcome the chance to work for them in the future.

So first I had a phone screen with a product manager, then a written test on technical skills, followed by a technical phone screen and an in-person interview. This all happened over about four weeks. Then like, a week before the in-person thing, they just stopped responding. I tried emailing and calling, and the day before the interview, the recruiter I was working with told me they'd given the job to someone already working there. Super unprofessional, I thought.

I applied for the job through DICE and heard back from an internal recruiter who wanted to set up a phone screen. We confirmed a time, but then the recruiter missed it. After I followed up, they said they missed my email response and we rescheduled for the next day. The phone screen went fine, and then they asked me to do a timed coding exercise. We scheduled it for the next day, I got the problem, coded it, and sent it back within the 30-minute window. But again, TCG didn't respond.
