First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TCF Bank.
Intern
Overall, it was a pretty standard internship recruitment process. I was recruited through my school and then brought on-site for an interview. There were different positions I could choose from when I applied, which was nice. It seemed like a pretty well-run company.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your work history?
Supervisor
The interview process was easy and direct since I was already an employee. They asked about how I would handle situations and my knowledge of cross selling credit cards and savings and CDs and any other prepaid services.
- How would you handle an angry customer?
- Tell me about your experience with cross-selling credit cards.
- What do you know about cross-selling savings and CDs?
Teller
I applied through career builder and got a call about a week later. The in-person interview with HR was straightforward. They asked about my strengths and weaknesses. The next day, I got a job offer.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Manager
It was a standard interview process, starting with a general screening call, and then a follow-up meeting with the department manager. They asked situational questions, like 'tell me about a time when...', to check if I understood the role. It wasn't too difficult.
- Are you more inclined to work as part of a team or on your own?
