First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TBWA\Media Arts Lab.
Assistant Account Executive
The interview process was really simple and direct. They were upfront about what they expected for the role. The interviews were scheduled closely together, and the process was easy to follow. They really wanted to make sure the candidate understood the role before accepting.
- What are the top 5 things you would teach someone to replace you in your current role?
Producer
I had an initial Zoom meet with the talent recruiter at MAL when they were planning an internal restructure of the production team. The person I spoke to was keen for me to interview a second time, once the restructuring had taken places so I could meet with my would-be senior. When I followed up I received a bounce back & the person I'd been spoken to had evidently left. I never received another follow up about the role despite chasing.
- Could you describe a typical day or week in your current position?
Assistant Account Executive
I was contacted by HR via email, given the job description, and asked to sign an NDA. The interview was set for the next week. Then HR contacted me again to say I was interviewing for a different position. The night before the interview, HR emailed to cancel, stating the team decided to pass on interviewing me. I got a feeling of unprofessionalism from the HR correspondence. I was hoping to talk to the employees to give them a chance to address the negative Glassdoor reviews, but it seems my experience aligns with other reviews. There are just too many negative reviews to disregard.
- I was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Assistant Account Executive
After a short ten-minute phone screening, I was flown out to the agency. My interviews were all scheduled for the same day I arrived in L.A., so I headed straight to the agency from the airport via cab. Due to the secretive nature of the work, all interviews took place in a meeting room in the agency's lobby. I ended up meeting with 5 different people over a period of 4 1/2 hours. Upon arrival, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- Can you tell us about yourself and what you can contribute to the team?
