The overall experience was great, everyone I met was professional and seemed to really care about their work. The interviewers asked good questions that felt relevant to both skills and culture. The hiring process was pretty long though, with seven interviews spread out over a few weeks, which felt a bit much at times. It did take patience, but it gave me a good feel for the company's vibe, tech, and what they expect. In the end, I felt like they were serious about finding someone who'd be a good long-term fit.

I applied and heard back from a recruiter within a few days for a screening call. Then, about a week after that, I had a Teams meeting with the hiring manager. A week following that meeting, I was informed that I wouldn't be moving forward. Based on what I gathered when I asked about their interview process, it seemed like they intended to have a lot of interviews, potentially 5 or 6, even though it wasn't a management position. Also, the recruiter was 15 minutes late to our scheduled phone meeting.

My experience was ok. The process was typical, three rounds, first with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and then a panel for a few hours. I did not feel like the panelists were engaging with me, one member would not make eye contact with me throughout the entire hour. There was no one I really related with, most of the folks were part of the company for 10+ years. Also when asked about DEI efforts, they said they were trying to do better, but then hired the typical individual for this company. I think this company has a ways to go to stay competitive in this candidate market.

After about 5 days of playing phone tag with the recruiter (and they rescheduled once), we finally had my phone interview. It was a bit strange that the recruiter was so hard to reach and didn't want to set a time over email. The recruiter asked really basic questions, mostly about my knowledge of golf and experience related to the job. It was obvious the recruiter didn't know much about golf, which was surprising given how much they focused on it. Soon into our chat, the recruiter asked about my current base salary. I asked for the salary range for the position, but the recruiter wouldn't share it. The recruiter asked about my current base salary a few more times (it was getting a bit tense), so I shared it and also mentioned other benefits like 401k, free healthcare, and stock options. Right after I gave my salary, they told me the range for the job, which was 60-75% of what I currently make. The interview wrapped up pretty fast after that.
