The interview process was a complete mess. It involved multiple interview rounds and a really complicated take-home test with instructions that were confusing, almost like the team itself couldn't figure it out. Despite getting through all the interviews and submitting the test solution, the entire team met to discuss my solution, and they seemed really pleased with it. But then, a few days later, the recruiter emailed saying the team's direction had changed and the position was no longer available. It felt like they exploited candidates' eagerness by making them do work they were incapable of, essentially using us as free labor.

First there was a phone interview where they asked general questions, a coding exercise, and a brainteaser/analytical exercise. After that, I had a homework assignment where I had to analyze sample data and create a presentation on my findings. I then presented my findings to the team. The last part of the process was a virtual onsite round with 4 separate sessions: collaboration on an analysis, a statistics session, a management discussion, and another brainteaser/analytical exercise. The whole thing took about a month, including the time I spent on the homework.

They still have this 12-hour take-home challenge. First, there was a 1-hour phone interview with a team member where they asked about my past experience. Then came the 12-hour take-home challenge. I regret not checking Glassdoor reviews earlier; it would have saved me time. Many reviews mentioned the tough 12-hour challenge. When I explained I couldn't do it and asked for alternatives, I was dismissively told to 'use my judgment'.
