The hiring process had 3 rounds. First was Technical Aptitude combined with Quantitative Aptitude. Second was a Group Discussion. Third was a F2F Technical Interview and a F2F HR Interview. We started with the quantitative and technical aptitude papers. Each paper had 2 sections, with about 25-30 questions per section and an hour for each. The hiring panel took about an hour during recess to evaluate the papers, and then the candidates who qualified were called for the GD and interviews.

First, there was a presentation about the company and its business. Initially, I didn't know much about the company, but I was really impressed by their presentation. Only ECE students were allowed for placement by Tata Communications. After that, there was a written test with two sections: technical and aptitude. The technical section had very basic questions from basic electronics, computer networking, and operating systems. The aptitude questions were quite easy, covering profit/loss, percentages, time-speed, and simple interest calculations, but speed was very important here. In total, there were 50 questions (technical + aptitude) in 60 minutes. Out of 290 students, 45 were shortlisted for the next round. The next round was a technical interview. In the technical interview, they asked questions like: "Tell me about yourself," "Explain your project," they'll ask about your domain (they prefer computer networks and optical communication-related), basic networking questions, and C programming and data structure questions from tree and linked list (I was also shocked why they were asking data structure, but don't worry, they just expect the algorithm from you). My technical interview lasted for 20 minutes. After that, I was called for an HR interview. The HR lady asked me only one question: 'Tell me about yourself,' and she was impressed. The next day, I got the result and was selected.

There was an aptitude test first, followed by a group discussion (GD), and then a technical interview. The GD was not well organised, with people shouting out of turn. The panel seemed to focus on who was confident speaking. Be ready with a topic because they might ask you to suggest one.
