Teaching Assistant
It was a really straightforward and friendly in-person interview process with HR. The time it takes to get a hiring decision can differ. They do require a background check. Since it's a state agency, a lot of the hiring process is very structured, but that actually makes things clearer.

I didn't have an interview, but I did have to submit an application for a grant through the Office of Student Research and Creative Activities. This office offers research assistantship positions. A panel reviewed the applications to decide who would get a position.
