& Process

I had one phone screening and then two onsite interviews. The onsite interviews were with the Controller, CFO, Finance Manager, Head of Growth Management, and Head of Delivery. The Controller was really great and accommodating, fitting me in while I was in town for other interviews and apartment hunting because I'm relocating soon. Everyone had good questions, and I enjoyed learning about the company and the role. After the last interview, they asked for references, and I got an offer a couple of days later. I didn't accept because another offer was a better fit for my career goals, but it was a hard choice. This would be a great opportunity for someone.

It was a 3-week process with one phone call and two in-person visits. First, I had a 30-minute call with the CFO. Then, for the first onsite, I met the CFO again in person and also two accountants from their external CPA firm. They showed me around the office before I left. The second onsite, I met with the CEO. It was a pretty relaxed chat. Everything went pretty fast. They were quick to schedule interviews. Everyone I met was really nice, and I felt good about it after the last interview. But after that, no one got back to me. I guess they chose someone else, but it would have been nice to get a heads-up or a reply to my emails since I spent time interviewing with them.

The process was long, tedious and disrespectful. My first interviewer, although very nice, didn't respect my time at all. Although my interview was scheduled for an hour, the interview ended almost after two hours. I lost track of time (as I am not supposed to check my phone during the interview). When the interview ended, he said "yeah, but we were a bit delayed, coffee and stuff". As if it was a 45 minute s of coffee making. By the way, I was on time, and didn't want coffee. The second interview was in front of two interviewers. Was not synced well and I felt attacked during most of the interview. I also set an alarm to trigger 20 minutes after the interview was supposed to end. Not only did the alarm trigger during the interview, its' snooze also triggereed. And, to have an even worse experience, I had a meeting with the CTO and an HR representative. None of them thought to introduce themselves by name even though I hinted and said my name as I shook their hands. The interview went well, and then a few days later I get an email with the explanation of "we are looking for a different profile". While this is an answer, it is not really acceptable after I spent more than 4 hours with the company. I would definitely not recommend anyone I know to work there.

It's a startup so it's a bit unorganized. A recruiter emailed me a few days after I applied to set up a phone interview. I was contacted on the day of the interview by an employee who was not the recruiter. The interview was average and I was told there would be two or three more in-person interviews before the final selection stage. They sent me an email a few days later saying they did not want to move forward with my candidacy.
