First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tandem HR.
Human Resources Business Partner
All three interviews were virtual and happened super fast, like within a few weeks. I chatted with the Hiring Managers and the HRBP Team. They both gave me a good amount of info about the company and the job, and then asked me some pretty detailed questions about my past work.
- Can you share the best feedback you've ever gotten?
- Describe your approach to building trust with others.
- Tell me about a time you successfully gained support despite facing significant opposition.
Payroll Manager
I went through 3 interviews with Tandem HR, all via Teams. First, I spoke with their recruiter, then the HR Manager, and finally the COO. I really enjoyed talking to everyone, they were so enthusiastic about the company culture and what they're building. They really sold the brand well, and I got more excited after each conversation. I decided to stay at my current job after they gave me a great offer, but I'll probably always think about Tandem and what might have been because I think they're doing something pretty special there.
- Could you give me five words to describe yourself?
HR Assistant
I got an email for an interview, but the position was put on hold due to COVID. Months later, the same employee emailed asking to have a phone interview about a position I didn't apply for. I took the phone interview and she mentioned there were several open entry-level positions (I had relative experience for these) and asked about next steps. I emailed a follow-up after a couple of weeks about the status. Never heard back. A month later, I got a rejection email from the recruiter saying they were moving forward with other candidates, which is understandable. I replied asking for interview feedback but never received a response. Overall, I thought it was poor.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What position are you interested in applying for?
Benefits Consultant
I had phone interviews, then a first in-person interview, and then a final in-person interview. Having 2 in-person interviews feels like a lot when candidates are working a full-time job. The recruiter I spoke with was on-site. When I was there for the in-person interviews, she didn't greet me or introduce herself.
- What makes you the right candidate for this role?
