Technical Writer
I applied in November 2024 and heard back quickly from a recruiter who set up an interview with the Hiring Manager. We had a good conversation where they asked about my background and my thoughts on the technical writing process. They seemed more focused on design thinking than my technical skills, which was cool. It felt like a low-pressure initial chat. I then got a take-home assignment, which I submitted. After waiting about two weeks for feedback, it felt off, like it wasn't even for my submission.
- Can you share your experience?
- What are your thoughts on the technical writing process?
Technical Writer
It was a good experience but I got another offer so I didn't continue. The first interview was an overview of my interests and capabilities. Then there was a written test which included some writing exercises.
- What technical writing tools are you familiar with?
Technical Writer
So my interview process had a few parts: first, I chatted with the recruiting team. Then I had a writing test to do at home. After that, I interviewed with the technical folks and did another writing test, this time live. Then I talked to two people from totally different departments. Finally, I had one last chat with the recruiters. The recruiters were really cool about me needing to reschedule things a couple of times because my family was dealing with COVID when I had my first interview, and their understanding really helped me out.
- Could you walk me through your current process for product documentation? And if you were to join us, what modifications would you implement and what would be your reasoning behind them?
