Behavioral Technical Presentation

I talked with a director at a career fair. It was a very direct and informative chat, and the recruiter quickly saw my interest. After that, I had a behavioral interview with HR where they asked pretty standard questions. The last interview was with the Head of the office I wanted to work in. They were very nice, and it felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview. We discussed my experience, the technologies I'm best with, how I'd approach future scenarios, and some things from my resume.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

I got an email from someone after chatting with a recruiter at a Career Fair. We had a phone chat which was basically to check if I fit the company vibe. Then there was a technical phone interview where they just asked me vocabulary questions about OOP, Algorithms, and Databases. After that, I got an email for the final on-campus interview. This interview included 3 coding questions, a discussion about my answers with an engineer, and then a chat with a manager. For each question, I had to provide pseudocode and then write the actual program in C++, Java, or Python.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you explain short circuiting in logical expressions?
  • What distinguishes an abstract class from an interface?
  • If you're given a starting day of the week and a number, can you write a function to determine the day of the week that occurs that many days later? For instance, with 'Monday' and 5, what's the output?

Technical Coding

The interview process involved a phone interview covering fundamental programming concepts such as OOP, Java and C++ specifics, and databases. This was followed by an on-site interview a week later. During the on-site, I had one hour to solve three programming problems on a provided laptop. Following the coding exercise, I had a 45-minute discussion with a manager. Despite arriving on time, there was a 30-minute delay before my interview started due to office availability issues.

Behavioral Technical

Applied via resume at a career fair and also on the website. HR reached out to schedule a phone tech screening. This screening was an hour and had a couple of quick behavioral questions, followed by a lot of technical questions on OOP, data structures, and databases. It was a screening, so it focused on definitions and examples, not problem-solving.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain what boxing is in OOP?
  • What does short-circuiting mean in a conditional statement?
  • Could you define what a candidate key is in databases?
