It seemed like a standard process. They scheduled a time to chat about the role and my background. However, the recruiter called an hour early, and it turned out to be an AI. The AI couldn't answer any questions about the job, and then it hung up. There was no way to call back. I had to text with their AI to get it to call me again. It was really unprofessional and left a bad impression.

I found a contract role posted by an agency on LinkedIn and applied. A recruiter emailed me the same day, which was great, but then they got really pushy about scheduling a call fast. Since I was still working full-time, it was hard to make time and a bit annoying. I managed to do the call that same afternoon. The recruiter had a really thick accent and was hard to understand. The call was brief and mostly to confirm my interest in the contract and my hourly rate. After the call, they wanted me to sign a paper saying I wouldn't work with other agencies for this job. I'm new to contract work, so I don't know if that's normal, but it felt aggressive. They also made their own version of my resume in Word to send to the company, even though I sent them a custom-designed PDF resume I made myself. I didn't love their resume, so I asked for some changes. I ended up dealing with three different people from the agency, which was confusing. At one point, the recruiter called me three times in a row, with calls ending less than five minutes apart. I ended up taking another job offer while this was still ongoing. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the agency and wouldn't apply to their jobs again.

My experience with TalentBurst was quite messed up. The job description they sent me wasn't properly reviewed and still had company marketing slogans and abbreviations, which I recognized because it's my current employer. When I pointed this out, the recruiter went silent. I reminded him that this info is readily available on my resume and LinkedIn. I then questioned how they found out about the role, since my employer exclusively hires through internal HR, even having a dedicated team for various employment types. After that, he just hung up, which means I won't be taking any of TalentBurst's emails or job postings seriously in the future.

I had two interviews back-to-back, both in person. The first was with my Hiring Manager, who is a Lead Analyst, and the second was with her manager, a Senior Manager. We chatted about my background and how I could really contribute to the team. It felt pretty laid-back, and I just focused on showing my excitement for the company.
