Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
Quality Manager
I had about four or five interviews in total at Takeda. The process was fine and the questions were fair. After the last interview, HR told me I'd hear back in a week or two. I said that was fine. But I never heard back. A month went by, and I emailed them for an update, but still no response. It's been months now and I haven't even gotten a rejection. I could have avoided all this waiting and not knowing if they'd just send a quick, polite message. It was really disappointing to not have any closure. I always thought highly of the company, but this experience makes me not want to apply again. It's not about the job or the interviews themselves, but about how they treat candidates. This kind of poor communication can really hurt a company's reputation in the long run.

Site Manager
The interview process consists of 3 steps. First, an HR and TA meeting to assess your skills. Then, a meeting with the hiring manager to assess your fit for the team. Finally, a panel interview involving a presentation to assess both skills and team fit, followed by individual interviews with various leaders.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you encountered within a team and how you handled it?
Management Trainee
Relaxed but lots of 'assessment center style' questions. Long application process, feedback on the initial interview via online meeting only after 1 month. In the actual interview, many questions about personal leadership style and prior experience (clear preference for applicants with lots of prior experience). But also many random questions and personality questions, very much in assessment style. Very high applicant pool, so felt like you could only score points with expertise and qualifications.
- Can you elaborate on your leadership style?
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- How would you approach a specific situation?
