So, there were at least two interviews. I didn't make it to a third round or the technical part. The first chat was with the hiring manager, and we went over some frontend tech stuff like rendering, react, RESTApis and my background with React Native. Then there was a panel interview with like 5 people, covering QA, frontend, and backend. It felt a bit disorganized, and they didn't seem super engaged in asking me many questions, which was kind of a bummer.

So I went through 4 rounds of interviews, but then got ghosted. One of the interviewers hit me with a technical question. I answered it right, but she was like 'nope, that's not it,' making me question my skills even though I have tons of experience. After we hung up, I double-checked and confirmed I was actually correct, and she clearly didn't know basic accounting.

Behavioral Case

it was a lengthy interview process. There were three interviews in total. First, I spoke with an HR person to ensure I met the basic requirements. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager for the department I applied to. Finally, I had a session with three team leads and one manager to assess my fit with the team. Everyone was quite pleasant and asked pertinent questions, which was a refreshing change from the usual generic ones.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • What would you do if a customer was yelling at you, wouldn't accept 'no' as an answer, and you couldn't resolve their issue?

Behavioral Technical

I started with a recruiter call for about 30 minutes, where we talked about my experience and some job description stuff. That seemed to go well, so then I had interviews with hiring directors. They dug into past projects and asked about topics outside the job description, which kind of caught me off guard. Be ready for anything.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • After explaining my background and answering two questions, one of the hiring managers told me that I was not a good fit, but rather than end the interview, wanted me to justify otherwise.
  • I attempted to do this until the end of our timeslot.
  • Interesting approach.
