First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tact.ai.
Backend Developer
They called for 3 rounds, but after reaching the office, they gave me 10 multiple-choice questions related to DS/Algo. I scored 5/10 and they told me I could leave for the day. The first round was done in 15 minutes. It felt like a waste of time to get 10 multiple-choice questions; they could have conducted it online.
- Given the postorder and inorder traversals of a tree, find the rightmost element.
- What is the number of binary trees that can be formed with 3 nodes?
- A question about binary search.
Vice President of Engineering
The process was pretty simple and wrapped up in about 2-3 weeks. Right away, I saw they really prioritize culture-fit and diversity, with everything else taking a backseat. This totally aligned with my own values, which was great. I appreciated getting to meet a bunch of the important people. All in all, the interview process felt thorough, well-thought-out, and spot-on for the role.

- What drives you?
IOS Engineer
I had a phone screen with a senior team member where they asked a mix of technical and non-technical questions, and I got to learn more about the product. After that, I was invited onsite for an in-person interview. It was about 6 hours long, including a lunch break, and I met with a variety of team members.
- There was an iOS related coding challenge.
- Some general algorithm & data structure questions with white boarding.
- Also some informal 'culture fit' sessions.
AI Engineer
The process was very unprofessional and a waste of a whole day. It included HR and managerial rounds, but unfortunately, no feedback was provided. There was one coding round, two technical interviews, and three HR/Managerial rounds in total.
- What are your thoughts on this DS algo question?
- Can we discuss the DS algo question further?
- How would you solve this AI problem?
