First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Taconic Biosciences.
Demand Planning Manager
It was a little tougher than normal. Started with a quick recruiter call, then I had an hour-long interview with the hiring manager that was pretty standard, asking about the role. After that, there was a panel interview that included a presentation. I had to give a 10-minute presentation on KPIs I use to track demand planning progress. This interview was also about an hour and they asked some really deep questions about my skills and experience.
- What metrics do you use to assess forecast accuracy?
Human Resources
The interview started with a phone screen, then I spoke with the hiring manager. After that, there was a long silence for 6 weeks before I got a standard rejection email, even though I followed up. It seemed like a nice place to work, but honestly, they didn't seem to respect the candidates.
- Tell me about a time when your previous work experience was directly applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
Account Manager
I had 3 interviews for the Account Manager role. First, an HR interview over the phone. Then, I met with the Associate Director, followed by the Senior Director. Finally, the Associate Director gave the final approval. The whole process took about 3 weeks before I got the offer.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- What do you consider your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- What motivates your interest in this position?
Laboratory Technician
The hiring manager and supervisor went over the job duties. Then, they gave a tour of the facility and introduced me to the team. The facility seemed nice, the staff were friendly, and the interview was straightforward. They're looking for someone who can work well in a small team, be flexible, and contribute ideas. The role involves learning to work with mice and rats and spending a lot of time looking through a microscope.
- Describe your experience in a high-throughput setting and how you handle your daily workload.
