Tech Lead
The interview process involved four rounds. It started with an online coding test, followed by a Java assignment where I had to create a notification system. Then there were two in-person interviews. The third round was supposed to be a discussion about my assignment, but the interviewer barely mentioned it. Instead, they focused on my current work and tool choices. This interviewer seemed confused and later asked me to design tiny URL with rate limiting. Despite not expecting to pass based on this, I moved to the next round. The fourth in-person interview's purpose wasn't clear. The overall experience was quite negative, with poor HR management of the candidates, leading to long waits for interviewers. The assignment submission process lacked order, causing significant delays.
- Can you design a tiny URL service, including how to handle rate limiting?
- Design a notification system.
Tech Support Analyst
The hiring process kicked off with a recruiter call. After that, I chatted with an HR rep. Then, I had a second interview with the hiring manager. The company seemed pretty standard in how they treated people. The hiring manager seemed to have a lot of ideas for his department, though they didn't seem totally realistic. The job itself seemed to require learning a lot about things like SQL, Windows server administration, and XML, which turned out to be true. After we talked, the hiring manager showed me around and introduced me to some of my potential teammates. I got the offer two days later, accepted it, and started the following Monday.
- Were there any difficult or unusual questions asked during the interview?
Senior Data Engineer
Very Poor Interview Process. Ratnakar Panchal, who conducted my 2nd technical managerial round, seemed to want answers that aligned with his own knowledge. In the 2nd round, HR had confirmed two interviewers would join (one technical, one manager), but only one person appeared for the call. Ratnakar conducted the interview and, at the end, asked about my recent projects. This was a question I had already explained in the screening and the first technical round. When the second techno-managerial round began, it seemed he wasn't very interested, and he ended the call abruptly. Suggestion: Please assign more qualified individuals to the interview panel for the second round, as the current setup is a waste of everyone's time.
- Tell me about the project you worked on in the last 6 months.
- What are some basic questions related to Spark?
- Can you explain Hive queries?
Client Support Manager
I applied online and they got back to me a few weeks later. First, I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. Then, I went in for a face-to-face interview with five pairs of people. It was a pretty tough behavioral interview. It felt like they had pulled people from accounting to ask me questions.
- What's your approach to managing?
- Describe a time you had a disagreement with your manager.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a personality conflict with your boss?
