The interview process had about three to four steps: first a chat with a recruiter, then a virtual interview over Teams/Zoom, and finally in-person interviews. The process itself was clear, but how it was carried out had issues. The recruiter I talked to was from another location and didn't seem to know much about the team I was interviewing for. The team members were nice and understanding, even when I had tech problems. But, I was surprised to find out the job wasn't really about finance like it was advertised, which the team admitted during the interviews. After almost a month of interviewing, including a fourth round with another person from the team, they just stopped responding. I was told I'd get a final decision in a week, but nobody followed up. I tried to get an update a few times, and they completely ignored me. This was not only a letdown but also unprofessional and showed bad communication from the company. Even though the people I met seemed to mean well, the whole thing felt messy, like a new company with unclear jobs, mixed messages, and no follow-through.

I spoke with the recruiter, then the chief engineer, after that I toured the facility, and then I met with the head of company culture. The interview had a short technical assessment on mechanical engineering principles. They asked me about my resume and portfolio, and we talked about my recent project experience and how they relate to projects at Systima.

I applied through LinkedIn and then got an email from the receptionist asking for more info. I replied, and then got invited for an on-site interview about a week later. The interview started a little late, and I met with the hiring manager, two composite engineers, and a planner in a small conference room. The hiring manager said they knew my skills fit the technician role and wanted to see how my interests and abilities align with other parts of the company. I thought I'd be talking about composite manufacturing, but instead we talked about my current job duties and other skills like CAD and reading drawings. It wasn't clear what role I was interviewing for by the end. After the interview, we toured the facility. The whole thing took about an hour. It was a bummer the supervisor wasn't there, especially since we planned it in advance. The waiting and the drive made me feel 'meh' about it all. Everyone was nice except the receptionist who asked 'who are you' when I buzzed in.

I had a virtual interview, and then they invited me for an on-site interview. I paid for my own flights and took time off work to fly across the country. The interview was about 3 hours long. It involved a test and several interviews, but then they ghosted me. They said they'd get back to me the next week, but I've heard nothing. Not even a rejection email, which is really disrespectful given I took time off and paid for my own travel. I emailed the recruiter, but no response.
