So I had an off campus drive for a Data Engineer role at Jerusalem college. First round had verbal, aptitude and reasoning sections, each with 10 questions, plus a language assessment question. Selected candidates were notified within an hour. Then, I got a call on Wednesday (instead of Monday as promised) asking me to come to their Alwarpet office the next day at 1 PM for a discussion round. They said no prep was needed. We arrived early around 12:15, but there were about 15 people waiting, and each interview took 15-20 minutes, so we waited over 4 hours. After that long wait, they informed us about a mandatory 2-week SQL training, followed by a test. Passing this test would lead to a letter of intent, and then another 2 months of training. Here's the kicker: there's no bond, but we have to pay 1,01,000 Rs + GST for the training. This fee can be deducted from our salary if paid in full. They also mentioned module tests and placement in specific domains based on performance, with salary determined accordingly. Honestly, they could have told us all this on the phone or to the group beforehand instead of making us wait all day. And charging employees for training is weird, feels like a waste of time.

The interview process included an initial online aptitude test with quantitative and verbal sections, followed by a face-to-face technical interview. Then there were 4 rounds of paper-based assessments on MS SQL Server over 3 weeks. They provided training on specific topics before assessing us on them. The marks from these assessments determined the pre-placement offer. The training was really helpful for gaining in-depth SQL knowledge, and the environment was very friendly.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a great process, the panel was really friendly. I enjoyed the discussion and felt like we collaborated well. The interviewers were professional. It started with an HR screen and then moved to in-person panels. It felt like a standard interview overall. They were very transparent and straight forward throughout the process. They answered all my questions and kept in touch with me the whole time.
