Software Developer

Software Engineer
Recruiter reached out for a software engineer role, I went through the recruiter screen. After that, I was grilled by a panel of 3 people about my SQL and Data Engineering skills. I don't have data engineering skills because I am a software engineer. It seemed like the engineers wanted something different from what the recruiters were looking for.
- Tell me about your experience with data engineering and SQL.
Senior Software Engineer
The first round was a technical discussion where they asked me to introduce myself, asked basic questions about my projects, and then I had to write code for 2 different scenarios. The second round was also a technical discussion, but this time they asked me to develop an application from scratch. The third round was with the technical manager, who asked me questions about my projects and also asked me to write some basic code. They also did a good job explaining the role.
- Can you tell me about your core Java and Java 8 features knowledge?
- Do you have any experience with groovy scripts?
